Welcome to your Italian adventure. After an airport transfer, we arrive in our home base, sun - soaked Riccione, where you will be warmly met by your guides and hotel staff. We will set up your rental bikes ready for your first ride tomorrow and have the tour introduction before dinner.
Our bike journey starts from the coast, in Riccione, the jewel of the Adriatic Coast.
After a few km the road begins to climb slightly, sure we are heading towards the first hill.
The beautiful Verucchio, homeland of the Malatesta family awaits us for the first stop and for
a beautiful photo while we admire the view of the entire coast. We continue towards medieval
fortress of San Leo, where in the main square we refresh ourselves with excellent coffee and
sandwiches. Our arrival will not be far away, just a little more ups and downs and we arrive
in the art city of Pennabilli. The first stage is conquered, we check-in into our hotel for the night.
KM 68 - MI 42 | MT 1675 - FT 5500
Fascinating landscapes will open in front of our eyes while
we ride to our next destination. From Petrella Guidi the road
begins to climb and for a long stretch we will always be in the
company of ups and downs immersed in uncontaminated nature.
Bagno di Romagna is a famous thermal centre, where we can relax
after our ride in the spa and thermal baths, followed by delicious
dinner to fuel our next day journey.
KM 46 - MI 29 | MT 995 - FT 3264
Expect more rolling hills to pedal through before we arrive
to another famous spa town Fratta Terme. The road passes in
a middle of picturesque countryside, vineyards, olive groves
and villages perched on green hills. It will entice us to taste
the famous piadina romagnola, warm soft flatbread filled with prosciutto
crudo, arugula and squacquerrone (local soft cheese) and of course the local
red Sangiovese.
KM 63 - MI 39 | MT 995 - FT 3264
The bike route from Fratta Terme to Faenza is a scenic
journey that takes us through beautiful countryside and
quaint villages. It will be the flattest part of our course
and should give us plenty of time to visit Faenza in the
afternoon. A city famous for pottery making with its beautiful
historic center full of small streets, taverns and typical bars.
KM 59 - MI 37 | MT 965 - FT 3150
Today, on our way towards the Adriatic Sea, we will pedal through
the banks of Italy's most famous river Po. The Po Delta is a wetland
area where the river meets the sea, and it is an important ecological
and cultural site. The delta is home to a variety of flora and fauna,
including many species of birds that migrate through the area.
KM 86 - MI 53 | MT 815 - FT 2675
Charismatic Comacchio, also called the Little Venice, and nestled
in Po Delta lagoon will be our final destination. The town's architecture
reflects its long history, with buildings from the medieval, Renaissance,
and Baroque periods all coexisting in the compact town center.
After checking in into our hotel for the last night we can visit its most
notable landmarks, such as Trepponti, a 17th-century bridge that spans the
canal and connects the historic center with the modern town. Or maybe the
Cathedral of San Cassiano, which dates back to the 7th century.
Over our final Gala dinner we can make plans for the future adventures
together.
KM 46 - MI 29 | MT 54 - FT 177
