This tour crosses Nord Italy on a moderate difficulty route, starting in the area of Bellagio, in the heart of its most authentic mountain, crosses Bormio and finishing in the beautiful Riccione, surrounded by iconic beaches.

Day 01
Transfer & Welcome

Welcome to Italy! We begin our adventure with an afternoon group airport transfer from Milan Malpensa to beautiful Bellagio, right in the middle of Lake Como. We have booked our partner cycling hotel il Perlo Panorama. After check-in and taking the first glance of breathtaking views around the lake, we make sure our bikes are ready for tomorrow's ride. Before dinner we can visit the city centre on foot.

Day 02
Lake Como Loop

This route of medium difficulty runs entirely through the coastal roads of the most beautiful branch of Lake Como that has enchanted the aristocracy for centuries. Our route will take us through Nesso, a picturesque village known for its natural gorge located at the mouth of the Tuf and Nosè valleys; the historic city of Como; and finally the elegant villas such as Villa Olmo, Villa d’Este and Villa Carlotta. We will finish our tour today with a 15 minute ferry crossing back to to Bellagio.

Day 03
Ghisallo Loop

The Madonna del Ghisallo climb is a must-do for everybody visiting Lake Como! A famous and iconic climb for road cyclists, where many past and present cycling champions have left their wheel prints on, at least once...now it's your turn. This climb is not only historical, it is immersed in beautiful scenery with several breathtaking viewpoints over Lake Como and Bellagio. We will make an obligatory stop for a quick visit and a photo in the cycling church and proceed to the feared Muro di Sormano, one of the hardest climbs in Italy with an average gradient of 17% and 1.7-kilometre long. There is a more gentle road that goes around it, for those of us that don't feel up to Muro on the day.

Day 04
Arrival In Bormio

In the morning, after the filling breakfast, we tavel by minibus to the beautiful city of Tirano, on the border with Switzerland. From here we get in the saddle and after a few kilometres we will begin the ascent of the legendary Passo del Mortirolo. Descending back to the valley, we cycle the last 20 kilometres along a gentle uphill road towards Bormio, our next destination. Check out the luxurious SPA of the Palace Hotel, before dinner to rest and recharge for the Stelvio Day tomorrow.

Day 05
The King Of Stelvio

Stelvio calling. We depart in the morning from Bormio and begin immediately our 24 km ascent to the legendary Passo dello Stelvio. As we gradually gain elevation we will stop to admire the alpline scenery around us and capture those special moments on camera. Once we reach the 2757 meter summit we can rest and recharge. For the more adventurous of you, who need to conquer the double Stelvio, we continue down the northern side through the famous 48 hairpins to Prato. The support mini bus will be on hand for any who prefer to take on this challenge. From Prato we briefly pass into Switzerland and begin the final 12km ascent along the Umbrail pass with an average gradient of nearly 10%. Bon courage to all those that attempt the big mountains. It will be a day of cycling to remember forever

Day 06
The "Queen Gavia"

Gavia is famous for its legendary professional stages under the snow and it is also a simply breathtaking mountain pass. We leave Bormio by bike, but already with our luggage on the bus, for the 4 hour road trip to the seaside resort in Emilia-Romagna. Once we have conquered the summit, we cycle down along the Lombardy side, and once the descent is complete, we load the bikes and move to the Adriatic coast, to the most hospitable cycling Hotel Dory in glamorous Riccione.

Day 07
San Marino Loop

Today we will pedal to visit one of the oldest republics in the world, The ancient Republic of San Marino, only 29 km away from Riccione, it was founded in the year 301 and has the oldest written constitution (1600) still in effect. You will be able to see its famous three towers as soon as we leave Riccione. San Marino is situated just over 600 meters above the sea level. After the past cycling days in the Alps, the 9km climb will seam quick and easy. After visiting the historic centre and coffee stop, we will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic descent back towards Riccione. Today’s tour will end with a delicious BBQ lunch in the countryside, at the hotel's country house.

Day 08
Urbino Loop

Today we pedal inland to the Marche region, to the City of Montefeltro, a pearl of the Renaissance era and the birth place of Michelangelo's rival Raphael, one of the greatest Italian painters of the 16th century. We will go through the narrow streets of the centre to see monuments and fora coffee break in front of the beautiful city Cathedral.

Day 09
Panoramica Sunset

This beautiful coastal road in the national park of San Bartolo has become a symbol and icon of the cycling holidays in the area. Pedalling on its traffic-free, gentle rolling hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea will surely leave you emotional. This time, on our rest day, we will face it in the afternoon, in total relaxation, to see the beautiful sunset and drink a glass of wine.

Day 10
Santarcangelo

The beautiful Santarcangelo is a great place to explore on a bike, as it is a small town with many narrow streets and alleys. It is the city of the most powerful family of the Rimini medievale, the Malatestas. We will pedal to the city's bell tower on the highest point, overlooking the town, and admire the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Then in a charming remote location we will stop at the Frontali family olive farm to taste great local wine accompanied by regional food delicacies.

Day 11
Carpegna

It is impossible not to climb the famous Marco Pantani climb, the training ground of the Italian cycling legend. We will count the well signposted, 22 hairpin turns, where the gradient averages around 10%. This section is where Pantani made his famous solo attack during the 1994 Giro d'Italia, which helped him win the stage and secure his first Grand Tour victory. The ascent finishes at an altitude of 1,416 meters, at the summit of Monte Carpegna. Overall, the route today is quite challenging but offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and on the way back to Riccione we can relax on long straight stretches of downhill roads.
